Merzouga circuit program 4 days from Marrakech
Highlights of the circuit:
Day 1:
Depart from Marrakech and drive through the high Atlas Mountains, passing through the tortuous Tizi n' Tichka pass to Kasbah Telouat. Visit the Ounila Valley and the exotic Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, then continue to the center of Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Africa.
Lunch at the Kasbah of Tourirt, former residence of the Glaoui dynasty. Continue to the Valley of Roses and the Kasbah of Amerhidil in Skoura, located on the banks of the Amerhidil River and one of the largest in Morocco. Night in the Dades Valley.
Day 2:
After breakfast, depart for the Dades Gorges and take a break to admire the spectacular landscapes of the monkey's paws. Continue to Tinghir via Boumalne-Dades, and admire magnificent palm trees and lush landscapes. The journey then continues to the Toudra Gorges for a leisurely lunch.
After lunch, head to Merzouga for a camel trek through the dunes of Erg Chebbi, a classic picture-book Saharan desert. Spend the evening in a bivouac (camp) and enjoy a typical Moroccan dinner. Overnight in a comfortable bivouac
day 3:
Wake up to a spectacular sunrise in the desert during breakfast. The bivouac hikers will return to the center of Merzouga and continue to the small town of Rissani, where you will visit the Ksours and Kasbahs of Tafilalt, stopping at the Palmeraie of Tafilalt en route. Go to the Zaouia of Moulay Ali Sherif (mausoleum of the founder of the dynasty) on the local market day in Rissani to see the traditional souks.
Then continue to Ouarzazate via Alnfe, Tazarine, the Draa Valley and Agdz, and visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt. Spend the night in a Riad Kasbah, where you will have the opportunity to visit the Kasbah of Tourirt.
Day 4:
After breakfast, continue your journey back to Marrakech via the Tizi n'Tichka pass over the high Atlas Mountains, stopping en route for lunch.
Arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech around 5 p.m.
